U.S. VETS - Hawaii has 235 beds available for homeless veterans. Services include:

In March, 2003, Cloudbreak Development, LLC and the Honolulu Department of Veterans Affairs entered into a long-term enhanced use lease agreement which paved the way for U.S. VETS to renovate and manage 3 buildings on six acres of land at Kalaeloa. This has allowed U.S. VETS to develop housing with supportive services and programs for hundreds of homeless veterans in partnership with the Honolulu VA Medical Center, the State of Hawaii, HUD and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Current Services include:

  • Homeless Veterans Outreach Program
  • Long Term Transitional Housing
  • Employment Assistance
  • Computer Classes
  • Clinical Case Management
  • Substance Abuse Treatment
  • Residential Employment
  • Permanent Housing for Disabled Vets

The U.S. VETS outreach team serves homeless veterans throughout Oahu and the island chain. Veterans are found living on the streets, in the parks, under bridges, in the jungle and on the beaches. Many are there due to mental illness, depression, substance abuse, financial hardship and other circumstances that have kept them in the cycle of homelessness.  U.S. VETS provides referrals to local community partners as well as linking them up to services available at our site.
