The bottom line is that U.S. VETS is bringing a message of hope to communities throughout the country. Dignity can be restored. Lives are being changed! Just a few Successes:

  • Everett, a vet addicted to crack and homeless for two years went through U.S. VETS programs, became an AmeriCorps Member, worked for U.S.VETS and is now in college, happily married, a homeowner, and is responsible for the substance abuse treatment & recovery education of several thousand parolees a year.
  • One vet spent five years homeless & addicted, became a U.S. VETS AmeriCorps Member, received his AA degree with honors & is now a year away from his Social Work degree. He has recently reunited with his father and his daughter.
  • Mike was a homeless crack abuser for 14 years. A U.S. VETS AmeriCorps Member brought him into drug treatment. He is now clean and sober and serving in an AmeriCorps program tutoring children.
