After continuing to grow in Riverside County, we are now excited to announce that U.S.VETS – Inland Empire is expanding these same services, including housing, meals, counseling, career development and case management to San Bernardino! This year, we will be breaking ground on our future residential properties that will bring 59 additional units of housing and supportive services to veterans and their families, as well as offering services to veterans in the community.
March Veterans Village
U.S.VETS – Inland Empire is excited to break ground on the third building of our March Veterans Village at March Air Force Reserve Base in Riverside County! In 2018, we opened two of the three planned apartments to provide housing and services to at-risk and homeless veterans and their families. This third apartment will provide housing for an additional 60 veterans and will focus on disabled and senior veterans. When complete, U.S.VETS – Inland Empire’s March Veterans Village will be home to more than 400 veterans and families from across the Inland Empire, and provide services to many more veterans in the community on a daily basis
The Ventura Veterans development will create a sense of home and community for veterans and their families through pedestrian pathways; collaborative, conversational spaces, and outdoor multigenerational spaces. A true neighborhood feel, and sense of ownership will be created by residential front stoops, open to the street, inviting neighbors to get to know each other.
West LA VA Campus
The West LA Veterans Collective (WLAVC), a partnership between U.S.VETS, Century Housing Corporation, and Thomas Safran & Associates was chosen by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to implement the Master Plan at the once thriving VA’s Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System – West Los Angeles Campus.
The campus, which opened in 1888, housed more than 5,000 veterans for decades, but slowly the life of the campus and the comradery of the veteran neighborhoods were left to crumble and decay even while there is no denying the need of housing for our veterans. Now, the West LA Veterans Collective is working to bring the West LA VA back to its glory by creating an updated, thriving veteran community to cater to the large number of veterans in Los Angeles County. It will include supportive services, a town center, parks, gardens, a wellness center and even bring a transit line back to the historic Streetcar Depot that was built in 1890. By the time we are done, the West LA VA will become the largest site of supportive veteran housing in the nation!

The new site will provide veterans with rehabilitative clinical programs, veteran-focused employment programs and supportive housing in a therapeutic community setting.
