Today, treatment and housing go hand in hand.
CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper threw a spotlight on the work of U.S.VETS, within a broader examination of the White House’s looming deadline for cities to end veteran homelessness by the end of 2015.
The segment, which aired on Veterans Day 2015, featured compelling interviews between the award-winning journalist and U.S.VETS clients in Washington, D.C.– Andre Jones, Stan Starr, and Matilda Carroll — who are back on their feet now thanks to the supportive staff at U.S.VETS.
As CEO Stephen Peck summed up the U.S.VETS mission to Tapper: “I think it’s really important that we take the long view on this. It’s a human issue, it’s a patriotic issue.”
