Walmart Foundation Supports Veteran Programs with $37,000 Check on Veterans Day

On Veterans Day, U.S.VETS – Barber’s Point staff members served brunch for clients as a way to show appreciation for serving our country. We invited Youth Challenge students to present colors and Girls Scout to play Bingo with clients. Another special guest, Mr. Steven Reed, Hawaii Market Manager for Walmart, attended the event to present a $37,000 check in grant funds to help support our homeless veterans program for both male and female. Mr. Reed made a speech to not only talk about Walmart’s commitment to hiring veterans, but also supporting veteran programs as part of their foundation’s mission.

Walmart has been a supporter of U.S.VETS in previous years by donating gift cards for our annual golf tournament and promises to support in the future as well. Staff and clients were full of gratitude for the fund we received through Walmart.
