U.S.VETS – Inglewood hosted its 21st annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Tuesday with a full house of more than 300 veterans and guests. Special guests included U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters, former U.S. Ambassador and NFL player Sid Williams, the Mayor of Inglewood and the entire City Council of Inglewood, as well as Joseph Chicas from the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Veteran Affairs.
Our clients also had the opportunity to meet and get pictures with the Los Angeles Lakers Girls. Lakers legend A.C. Green served the veterans breakfast and played some Lakers trivia with the crowd and gave away prizes, including a Kobe Bryant autographed basketball. Other speakers included a veteran graduate of the program and Garry Williams from the U.S.VETS – Inglewood Advisory Council. More than 50 volunteers from the AFL-CIO, United Way of Los Angeles and Los Angeles Lakers organization staff came out to support the event.
