VA Assistant Secretary for Public & Intergovernmental Affairs visits U.S. VETS

Ivan Mason, Executive Director of U.S. VETS – Inglewood, was proud to meet with Tommy Sowers, Ph.D., Assistant Secretary for Public and Intergovernmental Affairs for the VA on Wednesday, December 5. Mason was able to give Dr. Sowers and his colleagues an extensive tour of the facility and educate them about the programs offered at U.S. VETS as well as the history of the site and the organization as a whole. Dr. Sowers was very impressed with the size of the site, the number of veterans served and especially the program graduates he met who were giving back to their fellow veterans.

“We were very excited to have the Assistant Secretary visit the site,” said Mason. “It’s so important for the people in decision-making positions such as Dr. Sowers to see our program in action and really gain and understanding of the important work we do at U.S. VETS and how well we do it.”
