Veterans Day at U.S.VETS – Las Vegas

U.S.VETS – Las Vegas had a very busy Veterans Day weekend. The celebrations kicked off with the annual “Honoring Those Who Serve” Benefit Dinner. The event raised over $75,000 for Las Vegas veterans! This dinner was not only a fundraiser to raise money for the Las Vegas site, but was also a way for us to honor all veterans for their services; including announcing the winners of our Local Heroes:

– The Local Business/Organization award went to The Home Depot Foundation
– The Local Civilian Award went to Jody Shervanick
– The Local Military/Veteran Award went to the honorable Judge Mark Stevens

On Veterans Day, U.S.VETS staff and veterans marched in one of the largest veterans day parades in the nation. After the parade, the veterans of the U.S.VETS programs enjoyed a pleasant restaurant style lunch, served by U.S.VETS’ staff members. There were many smiles and full bellies after this eventful day that honored all who have served this country.

Every year, the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino graces our veterans with an amazing meal and live entertainment for Veterans Day. Golden Nugget employees, including Bruce Herman, a member of the Las Vegas Advisory Council, donate their time and food to serve and honor the veterans with a hot and hearty dinner. Thanks to Golden Nugget for your ongoing support of our veterans.
