Each year, U.S.VETS celebrates and honors veteran clients who have successfully completed the program and moved on to their own housing. U.S.VETS – Phoenix held a graduation ceremony on June 12 to congratulate those veterans who have regained self-sufficiency.
U.S.VETS staff and graduates were joined by Retired Colonel Dick Toliver, representative of the Archer Ragsdale Chapter of Tuskegee Airman Inc., and Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, who most notable announced in the past year that chronic homelessness amongst veterans in Phoenix had ended. The event was a tremendous success, highlighting the accomplishment of our graduating veterans, and raising awareness about veteran homelessness and U.S.VETS in the community.
John Scott, Executive Director for U.S.VETS – Phoenix, commented, “It truly is a pleasure and the and the pinnacle of our year when all the hard work performed by Veterans and staff are culminated into one event where we all share in the successes in overcoming insurmountable odds. Events like this show the resilient nature of Veterans and the deep rooted core values that make our Nations Veterans’ such a valuable asset to our communities.”
Congratulations to all our graduates! It has been our honor to serve you.
