On June 7 U.S.VETS – Phoenix was invited to set up a booth at Hot Rod Night to spread awareness about our goal to end homelessness amongst veterans.
Executive Director John Scott spoke to the crowd of nearly 300, and thanked them for their support of our nation’s veterans. “Freedom is never free,” he said, “and veterans have paved the way for us to share the liberties we have today. As they took care of us, let us also take care of them when they are in need.”
The event included a raffle, and the winner gave all the proceeds to U.S.VETS, totaling over $500.00. Shoes, hygiene items, and water were also donated to our veterans.
Special thanks to Joe Tassinari and Timothy Shays, and Nancy Perry for their help organizing the event.
