U.S.VETS Stops By Hot Rod Night in Phoenix

100_0486 On June 7 U.S.VETS – Phoenix was invited to set up a booth at Hot Rod Night to spread awareness about our goal to end homelessness amongst veterans.

Executive Director John Scott spoke to the crowd of nearly 300, and thanked them for their support of our nation’s veterans. “Freedom is never free,” he said, “and veterans have paved the way for us to share the liberties we have today.  As they took care of us, let us also take care of them when they are in need.”

The event included a raffle, and the winner gave all the proceeds to U.S.VETS, totaling over $500.00. Shoes, hygiene items, and water were also donated to our veterans.

Special thanks to Joe Tassinari and Timothy Shays, and Nancy Perry for their help organizing the event.100_0465

This is a weekly event that was intended to be a night out for the veterans at US Vets many transition homes for a break. BUT, Nancy Perry, NancyPerryProductions.com, and her love and respect for veterans yesterday and today would have it another way. Local Arizona folk are welcome to come by EVERY Saturday at the K-Mart location on the S/W corner of 67yh Ave and Bell Road here in Glendale, Az., be looking for you. These classic cars are owned by CLASSY folk!
First week Nancy and Tim Shays put the word out what was needed and the second week was Nancy Perry / Car Club AWESOME. At one point we had classic cars and hot rods waiting to unload cases of water, clothing and toiletries, (soap, tooth paste and brushes, etc.), it went on throughout the night. NEVER could I have imagined suck generosity.
In all the veteran organizations I’ve worked with I have seen nothing but honesty and dedication to our soldiers / veterans. Special THANKS to John Scott for allowing me to be a volunteer and associate.
