U.S.VETS – Barbers Point Donor and Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon

On September 5th, U.S.VETS – Barber’s Point held a Donor and Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at the Willows Restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii.

As guests walked through the scenic garden entrance, staff greeted each guest as they proceeded through the doors of the Kapa’akea Room. Everyone enjoyed the acoustic Hawaiian sounds from Na Hoku Hanohano award winner, Kamuela Kahoano.

As the formal program began community supporters and fundamental partners were honored and recognized for their vital role in supporting U.S.VETS – Barber’s Point site’s mission during the 2014 fiscal year. Veterans United, Paul L’Ecuyer, Michelle Bradshaw from Argosy University, Dick May representing the Rotary Club of Kapolei, Jade Umi from Star Protection, and Rey Armijo on behalf of the Wal-Mart Foundation, received an honorary glass plaque and were presented with a lei by Chief Operating Officer, Darryl Vincent, and Barber’s Point Executive Director, Dr. Kim Cook.

The event’s highlight was the standing ovation that U.S.VETS – Barber’s Point’s success story, Mr. Damien Hanuna, received as he shared his personal journey of success to all who attended. Damien is an example of why we as staff members of U.S.VETS do what we do every day. On behalf of the Barber’s Point staff, we extend our deepest appreciation to all of our honorees and supporters who have made a commitment to join our fight to end homelessness amongst veterans.
