Washington D.C. Groundbreaking
Tonight, more than 500 veterans will sleep on the streets of our Nation’s capital. Over the course of a year, more than 1,500 veterans who served our country honorably will fall into homelessness and spend weeks or months looking for shelter and assistance.
U.S.VETS is breaking ground on a new facility that will provide housing for 85 veterans in SE Washington D.C., becoming the largest veterans program of this nature in the area. The program will serve more than 200 veterans annually, significantly reducing the number of veterans on the streets of Washington D.C.
